The Chinese Tomb at Cypress Grove

Join us for our January lecture! The Chinese Tomb at Cypress Grove Cemetery was built in July of 1904 by the Chinese community in New Orleans. It is also known as the Soon On Tong Vault, the Chinese Mausoleum, and the Chinese Cemetery.

Presenter Winston Ho will discuss the arrival of the first Chinese settlers to Louisiana, the construction and history of the tomb, Chinese burial customs, other Chinese tombs in the city, and the Chinese community in New Orleans today.

This lecture is free and open to the public. To be held Wednesday, January 11th, 2017 at 6:30pm at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Boulevard.
