“Tombs by Twilight” Tour Featured In Clarion Herald

Save Our Cemeteries “Tombs by Twilight” tour is featured in an October 29, 2015 article by the Clarion Herald, the official newspaper of the Archdiocese Of New Orleans.

Excerpt:
“’Tombs by Twilight’ is held the fourth Saturday of the month with the next tours set for Nov. 28 and Dec. 26 at 4 p.m. Advance reservation through Save Our Cemeteries is required. The tour is open to those 21 and older and includes a 75- to 90-minute tour, a tour pamphlet, hors d’oeuvres and a drink at the nearby Chateau LeMoyne Hotel’s Richard Fiske Martini Bar. The tour begins and ends at the hotel, where guides meet those with reservations. The Archdiocese of New Orleans receives no compensation from this tour.

“We tried to make it more elegant,” Walker said about the tour with an after party held at the hotel. “It’s been great. Some people hang out and talk for an hour after the tour.”

Walker, whose Save Our Cemeteries office overlooks the cemetery, said St. Louis No. 1 “is beautiful at night. And, with their dusk tour the only one in the cemetery, those who take it “feel more special. People are calling to see if there are cancellations.”
