Cemeteries of New Orleans

There are more than 40 cemeteries in New Orleans in need of our help in our 300 year-old city. Over the years, the cemeteries have suffered from flooding, looting and the ravages of time. Through restoration, education and advocacy, Save Our Cemeteries strives to increase the public's interaction, appreciation and enjoyment of the architectural, historic and cultural value of these important places.

Each tomb is a chapter in the riveting tale of New Orleans. Privateers. Voodoo queens. Grand Creole ladies and gentlemen. Jazz greats. War heroes. Yellow fever victims. Storyville madams. Poets. Artists. Architects. Chefs. Fascinating New Orleanians, enslaved and free. Save Our Cemeteries makes sure their stories continue to educate, entertain and inspire.
